José Luis Maroto and José Luis Ibáñez, both born in 1964, studied at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Madrid, graduating in 1990.
For five years they combined work and study, collaborating on project development in an architecture firm, alongside University professors.
In 1991 they opened their own studio and have undertaken housing and commercial-venue reforms as well as the creation of new buildings, in Spain, London, Rome and Venice.
In 2000 they began collaborating with the Final Project Program for the Interior Architecture Course at the Construction and Architectural Technology Department of Madrid’s Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura. Since 2007 they have worked with the Masters in Design and Interior Architecture at the same University. Starting in 2010 they have collaborated with the Graphic Design Course at the European Design Institute in Madrid.
